Notes These pictures (framed windows) donated by Donna Mackie have origins that trace back to 1916. John Morrison and his brothers Alex and Peter came from Owen Sound to Strathclair in 1880 and homesteaded the land at N.W. 1/4 6-17-21. In 1916 a large frame house was built on the NW quarter. The land rremained in the Morrison family for a number of years. Following the second World War, Arnold and Bessie McLean purchased the land from Jonny Morrison with assistance from the Vetrerans Land Act (V.L.A.) and lived on the farm until mid 1970. Jim and Donna Mackie purchased the farm from Arnold and Bessie McLean. The house was occupied for a few years by various renters. Once the house was vacant, the windows were removed and framed for display purposes.
